Xydar(R) liquid crystal polymer

Xydar® liquid crystal polymer is a self-reinforcing, glass or mineral-filled resin that delivers unmatched processing capability. Beyond this, it has the highest heat deflection temperature of any thermoplastic so it can meet the requirements of vapor phase and infrared soldering for surface mount technology assembly.

Xydar® resin also has outstanding strength at extreme temperatures and inherent resistance to virtually all chemicals - including acids, solvents, boiling water and hydrocarbons - as well as to weathering, UV radiation and burning. Xydar® resin is transparent to microwaves, and although naturally beige in color, it can be pigmented.

Xydar® resin features excellent flow properties and warp-resistance, so it can be injection molded into thin-wall components - typically as thin as 0.25 mm - at high speeds and with excellent replication of mold details. Plus fast cycle times and the resin's thermal stability permit efficient use of regrind.
