The Weigh Hopper mounts directly on the throat of the extruder and continuously monitors the actual amount of material consumed by the extruder. In effect, the extruder becomes a gravimetric metering device. Each Weigh Hopper is mounted on a load cell, which precisely measures the material weight loss using a high resolution onboard Weigh Module. This weigh information is digitized and transmitted to the Central Computer for processing. An integral loader support platform allows for mounting a vacuum receiver or small surge hopper. Hopper sizes are available for all standard extruders.
