Features:
- Optimal angle cutting chamber design.
- Sound controlled for noise levels estimated below 90dbA.
- Tilt back hopper via screw jack assembly splitting the cutting chamber above the rotor for easy accessibility to the knives.
- Solid flywheel provides higher tip force to cut through thick cross section parts.
- Outboard mounted bearings.
At the heart of Ball & Jewell's 1600 series granulators is a unique cutting chamber design that combines the best performance features of conventional drop-through and tangential feed chambers. The 1600 presents feed scrap to rotating knives at the Optimal angle to prevent stalling from overfeeding or over-ingesting. It's the closest thing to an all-purpose cutting chamber!
1600 series granulators are sound controlled to reduce noise levels to below 90dbA time weighted average. Tested in accordance to SPI noise level test procedures.
All welded and machined construction provides the most durable machine.
Outboard mounted bearings eliminate the possibility of grease contaminating the granulate, or dust fouling the bearings.
Hopper tilts back via screw jack, splitting the cutting chamber above the rotor for easy access to all the knives. Quick removal hopper flap assembly for ease of maintenance and cleaning. Lower infeed height for comfortable loading.
Solid flywheel rotor sheave provides higher knife tip force to cut through thick cross-sectioned feed stock.
Electrically interlocked screen cradle raises and lowers via gas springs. Precision drilled screen with mounting lips assures long life and positive fit.
Available options include a Regal sound enclosure, special designed hoppers to facilitate loading, automatic evacuation packages, NEMA-12 controls with disconnect, level indicator with alarm light to sense high level of granulate in bin, zero speed switch with alarm light, and hardface welding of the cutting chamber and rotor.
