For medical, industrial and consumer goods that require the low permeability to moisture, air and oxygen that butyl rubber provides but with improved processing.
Trefsin® thermoplastic rubber is ideal for low-permeability applications where butyl rubber is traditionally used, delivering the benefits of rubber with the faster cycle times, recyclability and design flexibility of plastic. You can process Trefsin rubber on standard thermoplastic blow molding, injection molding and extrusion equipment.
Trefsin rubber comes fully compounded as free-flowing, ready-to-use pellets, and offers many benefits, including design flexibility, recyclability, rubber properties, colorability, excellent sealing properties, heat aging, oil resistance and cost savings.
Other thermoplastic barrier materials cannot match the superior flexibility and elastic properties of Trefsin rubber; low permeability to moisture, air and other gases provides an exceptional combination of benefits for parts where rubber performance and good barrier properties are required.
