Thermashield

Thermashield^TM is a proprietary, highly engineered, intumescent, fire-retardent material. After extensive research and development Thermashield^TM has been designed to usher in a new millennium of fire and thermal protection for the aerospace industry. It can be applied to structural steel, aluminum, metal alloys, and composite materials. Unlike other materials, Thermashield^TM can be applied as an interior or exterior coating due to its ability to withstand harsh environmental conditions.

Thermashield^TM was formulated and developed to meet the rigorous and exacting demands required by today's advanced materials. In a high velocity, open-flame test, steel panels were subjected to heat fluxes of approximately 70,000 BTU/ft2-hour and a 60-70 ft/s combustion front advancement. Additionally protective layer did not flake, burn, pop or peel-off.
