Synventive Valve Gate Cylinders Improve Ability To Retain Maximum Glass Fiber Length In The Molded Part
This innovative system is suited to all types of long fiber processing, whether it be from pellets, master batch glass concentrates or direct, continuous fiber compounding, enabling the part designer and processor greater flexibility to optimize performance and lower cost.
The valve gate cylinders - HYC 4018 and PNC 7518 - from Synventive are suited to both hydraulic and pneumatic systems. The increased cross section and optimized edge design, in combination with the large melt flow channel, reduces stress at the gates by minimizing pressure therefore reducing shear. This allows greater fiber length retention as well as giving greater service life to the needle and nozzle, key factors in reducing operation costs.
The strive to retain maximum fiber length is a result of the continuing demand of end users to take advantage of the comprehensive benefits in performance such as reduced shrinkage, warpage, creep, anisotropy and linear thermal expansion. More important than ever, the resulting potential for smaller wall thicknesses can not only help to save product weight but also to minimize the re-quired cooling times in the manufacturing process, leading to higher productivity.
The valve gate cylinders are available with tapered or cylindrical shut-off, and feature all the proven advantages of these series, including:
- Adjustment of the needle position (± 1,5 mm) without prior removal, considerably facilitating assembly and service
- Anti-twist needle lock for safe positioning of beveled nozzle tips to the needle
- Patented active cooling of the needle guide
- Decoupling from the oil chamber for high stability (HYC 4018)
- Compact design for use even where space is extremely limited
