Since the introduction of RJG's DECOUPLED MOLDING technique and in-mold pressure monitoring and control technology at Arkay, injection molding has become more of a science, and quality more predictable. Arkay now has a systematic approach to providing our customers with a very repeatable process on any type of molding machine.

For example, we have been molding 3-pound door panels with a repeatability of +/-l gram. And part weight is not the only variable that benefits from this type of molding. Our two-cavity automotive fan molding process is capable of maintaining a balance to within 2 sigma (actual deviation confidential) using cavity pressure control and monitoring. Part dimensions have proven to he more repeatable on numerous other plastic parts as well when cavity pressure information is used.

Our end-of-fill cavity pressure monitoring plan, which are use as a single-variable SPC system, has made process monitoring and diagnostics a much simpler task. Many molders wonder which variables they should monitor in order to prevent shipment of defective parts. With just this one variable, Arkay has been able to detect changes in any portion of the molding process, and automatically reject suspect molded parts. Material variations have also heen detected and later verified with FTIR scans.

A lot of times theory and real world scenarios don't agree. This is not so with RJG technology and education, it actually works!!
