Case Study: Vortex® Wye Line Diverter™ Handling Polypropylene And PET

In May, 1998, the company installed two Vortex® 5" Wye Line Diverters™. The Vortex® diverters allow product to be blended more accurately and more frequently. They increased both production and plant efficiency. The two diverters handle 15,000 pounds of material each hour.

Company employees enjoy not having to go outside to connect and disconnect hoses – especially during winter months when hoses are covered with snow and ice. Operations are now performed remotely in the comfort of an interior control room. Again, this added to the overall efficiency of the operation.

The diverter valves worked so well that in June, 2000, two Vortex® DA3-2SSY-SL-MG-WP 3" Wye Line Diverters™ were purchased. These valves allowed the company to further expand their operation and product offering. These smaller diverters handle 3,000 pounds of product each hour.
