Xenia, Ohio, (June 1, 1003) --- >SAS< Automation, Ltd, the leader in modular robotic end-of-arm tooling and CNC degating equipment introduces end-of-arm tooling for articulating robots.

Five and six axis robots present special applications (peeling and insert molding) not available with cartesian robot movements. With the increase of articulating robots in the injection molding process, providing cost effective EOAT for high volume, multiple shift operations is a specialty of SAS Automation Ltd.

According to Richard Petz, general manager for SAS Automation, "our experience shows that payback is often achieved within 18 months, for high volume production when using a well-designed combination of EOAT and robot.
The design expertise in the SAS modular system reduces the need for expensive custom components, thus reducing the overall EOAT cost."

These applications are unique as the EOAT designs must allow sufficient room for the robot arm to unfold as most tools will enter the molding press from the top or side. EOAT's therefore need to be less complex as the robot provides multiple, accurate motions within the cell. Many articulating robots do not come with a standard valve package, and thus, this must be added to accommodate the EOAT functions. Other advantages of the EOAT and articulating robot package include improved gate cutting, deflashing and interfacing with fixtures
