RTP Company's Thermoplastic Elastomer Products Made Available At China Facility
Winona, MN RTP Company, a global leader in specialty compounds, has added new thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) capabilities to its Suzhou, China manufacturing facility. These TPE compounds are based on five different TPE chemistries and include bondable grades, medical grades, and specialty TPEs for rubber replacement. In addition, grades utilizing RTP Company's proprietary wear resistant, conductive, flame retardant, and precolor technologies will be produced at RTP Company's China facility.
"The new TPE capability will support our rapidly-growing consumer, industrial, and electrical customer base in Asia, offering shorter lead times and specialty TPE compounds that were previously not locally available," said Scott Mumm, TPE General Manager at RTP Company.
This increased TPE capacity coincides with recent expansion at RTP Company's Winona, Minn., headquarters. In October of 2006, RTP Company announced that its advanced TPE technology had emerged as a new division. In order to support its newly-formed division, RTP Company invested in TPE testing and manufacturing equipment, including the establishment of a new research lab. Additional benefits are an expanded TPE product offering and increased quality assurance.
RTP Company's 16,000 square meter (170,000 square feet) manufacturing plant in Suzhou, China, was opened in December of 2005. The state-of-the-art facility offers a full complement of customer support, product development, and technical service.
