RTP Company introduces its new 1800A Series of compounds utilizing an innovative PC/Acrylic alloy. These compounds provide an excellent balance of impact resistance, processability, and chemical resistance. They demonstrate superior impact strength compared to polycarbonate, with the processing ease of acrylic. Modifiable for wear resistance, flame retardance, EMI shielding, anti-static protection and precolor, they are formulated for injection molding or extruded sheet.

PC/Acrylic compounds can be processed at lower temperatures than polycarbonate, decreasing the cooling time, and in turn, the cycle time of the injection molding process. These compounds are comparably priced to those made with PC/ABS, even though overall properties are similar or better.

Key applications for PC/Acrylic Compounds include portable phone and pager housings, appliance components, toys, pen housings, furniture, automotive components, medical diagnostic devices, gears, and protective casings. Some formulations can be developed for use in applications that come into contact with food.
