Omega III Series
Ultrasonic welding is used for fast, reliable assembly of thermoplastic parts. Forward's most sophisticated model, the MCX, offers the quality management and precision demanded by our customers.
The MCX features a large display screen and can weld using four different modes:
- Constant Time: The actual weld cycle time is programmed into the MCX and is consistent each time.
- Constant Height: A constant stack height is maintained from part to part.
- Constant Travel: The actual melt travel is measured and kept constant, allowing for part variations.
- Constant Energy: The MCX supplies exactly the same power to each weld.
Other improved features include simplified programming & machine adjustment, larger work area around the application, back-lit display screen, improved amplitude control, and an optical encoder. A proportional valve, standard on the MCX, allows trigger pressure, weld pressure and cooling pressure to be controlled separately during the weld cycle. This reduces weld time and increases weld integrity.
For increased production management, the MCX can be hooked up to a PC and printer to report welding parameters of good and bad parts, faults for any rejected parts, production count and more. Parameters for 20 programs can be stored allowing for rapid changeover between welding applications.
Two welding frequencies including 20 kHz and 30 kHz are available for the MCX with power supplies ranging from 800-3000 watts.
