Nubiola Ultramarine Blue and Violet Pigments conform to the purity requirements of 21 CFR 73.2725
Nubiola Ultramarine Blue and Violet Pigments conform to the purity requirements of 21 CFR 73.2725 for use in packaging with direct food contact. Furthermore, these pigments can be used as colorants for "Resinous and Polymeric Coatings" as described in 21 CFR 178.3297. In 21 CFR 177.2600 and 175.3000, Ultramarine Pigments are approved for use in "Rubber Articles Intended for repeat Use."

Ultramarine Pigments are compatible with most thermoplastic resin systems. They have excellent light stability, alkali resistance and heat resistance (350°C). It is recommended that an acid resistance grade such as RB-30 be used in applications where resistance to acids is required.

The standard grade of Nubiola's Blue Pigments is available in a wide range of red and green undertones. Nubiola also offers its Nubix line of Ultramarine Pigments that provides the following advantages over the standard grades:

* Easier dispersion
* Narrow particle-size distribution
* Low-moisture content
* Very low levels of free sulfur

Nubiflow, an outgrowth of the Nubix line, has an even narrower particle-size distribution. It is recommended for use in polyolefins for fibers and thin films where dispersion is critical. The excellent dispersion characteristics of Nubiflow make it suitable for use in PET. Nubiflow does not exhibit the haze effect normally seen with conventional ultramarine pigments in PET.

Nubiola also offers a range of violets. Their major use is to color-correct the yellow cast sometimes seen in whites or clear resins. Violets are available in standard grades as well as in the Nubix line.

This product is distributed to New England, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest States only.
