Baltimore, Md. - Novatec announced today that its new, patent pending, leading-edge dryer operates without the use of desiccants or moving parts. As a result, the new NovaDrier ™ will drastically reduce energy costs and maintenance costs associated with the moving parts used in conventional dryers.

There's no process motor, regeneration motor or regeneration heater. There are no valves and no cooling coils on high temperature applications. This breakthrough means that the only maintenance requirements are the need to change filters periodically.

The new technology drastically improves drying quality by providing a constant low dew point. Air from the drying media is -40 0F or lower so resin is dried at a consistently higher quality than conventional dryers with dew points above zero. This consistency eliminates the waste from ruined batches that are associated with spikes or deviations in drying temperatures.

"This is a dramatic breakthrough that will re-define how the industry views dryers," said John W. Doub, Jr., Executive Vice President of Novatec. "I've been selling dryers since 1966 and haven't seen an improvement to dryer technology this significant in that time."

NovaDrier ™ also improves quality by providing consistent process air temperature free of spikes or deviations as well as the constant purging of volatiles from the process. It not only dries all materials, it is easy to install and maintain since it operates with any compressed air source - refrigerated or desiccated air isn't required.

NovaDrier ™ is made of stainless steel and its hoppers are insulated for better temperature control and to reduce the amount of heat generated into the atmosphere. Novatec is so confident in this new technology that they are providing a three-year warranty.
