It machines up to 50% faster than P-20 yet it has a hardness of 40 HRC. NAK 55 has superior surface following machining which allows faster, better polishing. It is dimensionally stable even after heavy machining and requires no stress relieving. Design changes and mistakes are easily corrected without any evidence of welding on the finished product even on highly polished or textured surfaces. NAK 55 is ideal for EDMing. It also can be ion nitrided to 60 HRC.
