Moll Industries Announces Sale Of Fort Smith Plant
Dallas, TX - Moll Industries, Inc. announced recently that it has entered into an agreement to sell its Fort Smith plant and its equipment housed there to River Bend Industries, a new corporate entity. Ron Embree, a previous Moll President from 2003 to 2005 and an employee at Moll from the early nineties to the mid-2000's, heads up River Bend. Embree brings intimate knowledge of the plant and its production capabilities from his tenure as Vice President of Operations for Moll, as well as years of service in other capacities. It is anticipated that many of Moll's Ft. Smith employees will be offered employment by River Bend.
"It's a win-win situation for us all" remarked Joe Pack, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Moll. He added, "It's an outcome that is extremely beneficial for all parties and good for the people and economy of Fort Smith."
In October, Moll disclosed it would be closing three plants dedicated mainly to appliance production by the end of this year. Moll affirmed it remains committed to existing customers within the appliance segment, and is focusing resources in other core market segments including medical molding and consumer products production where steady growth is ongoing. Moll operates two locations in Mexico, one in Empalme, Sonora; and one in Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila, as well as sites in Donegal, Ireland; Lexington, North Carolina; and Seagrove, North Carolina where its medical molding management is centralized.
