Moldflow Plastics Laboratory Achieves A2LA Accreditation

Framingham, MA - Moldflow Corporation, a global provider of automation and optimization software for the plastics injection molding industry, recently announced that the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) conferred accreditation to the Moldflow Plastics Labs testing facility in Ithaca, NY for technical competence in the field of mechanical testing and the operation of a laboratory quality management system. Moldflow Plastics Labs specializes in material testing for CAE analysis and provides state-of-the-art material testing services, expert data fitting services, and the world's most extensive plastics material database for injection molding simulation.

Moldflow is believed to be the world leader in the technology for the simulation of injection molding and has pioneered the testing and characterization of plastics materials in its laboratories in Ithaca, NY and Melbourne, Australia. The insights gained into the properties and processing of plastics materials have benefited plastics manufacturers and consumers since 1978 by allowing for the faster development of less expensive and higher quality molded parts. Moldflow's A2LA accreditation validates nine different mechanical property tests and is a testament to the rigorous standards upheld by the Moldflow laboratories, as high quality material data are essential for high performance simulation of injection molding.

According to Russell Speight, Moldflow's director of material technology, "Moldflow Plastics Labs has been an invaluable partner to the world's leading plastics material manufacturers, OEM's and their suppliers for almost three decades. A2LA accreditation validates the high level of service we provide to our existing customers and lets new customers know that they can have complete confidence in the quality of the testing results we generate."

Peter Unger, A2LA President, stated, "A2LA is pleased to formally recognize the outstanding capabilities of the Moldflow Plastics Labs through its accreditation which provides a high degree of assurance of reliable, accurate results for its customers."
