MLAN - Maguire Local Area Network

In any plastics processing facility, gravimetric blenders play a unique role. They control and measure the exact weight of each material component as it enters the process. MLAN is an area network software package which allows plastic processors to utilize this information to its fullest potential.

The MLAN system provides the means for plantwide monitoring and control of the flow of raw materials. In addition, this powerful tool allows the user to ensure proper formulation settings and to evaluate the performance of specific machines and operators.

Designed for Microsoft Windows environments, MLAN provides two-way communication between a central PC and the microprocessor-based controls of the Maguire Weigh Scale Blenders. Each blender in the network is continually scanned for component setting and throughput totals, providing real-time material consumption data. Blend formulations can be remotely updated and downloaded to blenders according to specific blender ID numbers, work order numbers, and operator numbers.

Upon initial purchase of MLAN, the user receives a set of software diskettes, a signal amplifier, and a hardware key. The hardware key is pre-programmed to control a designated number of blenders that can be used with the software. The hardware key also enables Maguire Products to make MLAN maintenance releases available over the Internet.
