Formulated specifically for high pressure industrial/mechanical wear applications, Microlon 1052's unique chemistry provides dependable, bonded lubrication for bearing surfaces subjected to extreme pressures...up to 150,000 psi. Highly loaded gate valves, valve stems, platens, and bridge bearing pads (all of which may operate in chemical and/or corrosive environments) illustrate areas which require 1052's special properties.
Microlon 1052 remains functional under these conditions because its dual lubricants are evenly distributed in the most durable, thermoset polymer available. Conventional lubricants are simply inadequate under such adverse conditions. Even the versatile fluorocarbon finishes (FEP, PTFE, PFA) are unsuited to extreme pressure applications because of their tendency to "cold flow."
