Sonoco, one of the largest diversified global packaging companies, has been named Supplier of the Year by Madico in their “Supplies and Services” category. A world leader in the coating, laminating and converting of specialty films in wide width, roll-to-roll formats, Madico selected Sonoco Plastics in recognition of outstanding quality, service, delivery, innovation and capability as a key supply partner.
“Given the demanding applications and performance requirements for Madico products, Sonoco is honored to have met those stringent standards, and we are pleased to receive this 2013-14 Supplier of the Year Award,” said Steve Pierro, division vice president and general manager, Sonoco Global Injection Molding and Extrusion.
The Supplier of the Year Award criteria is based on exceptional performance in quality, service, delivery and innovation. This recent award was driven primarily by Sonoco’s innovative approach to challenging packaging issues related to Madico’s tinted window films used in the automotive market. Not only did Sonoco provide high quality packaging, but they also reduced shipping costs and waste that would have ended up in a landfill.
“We are proud of our collaboration with Sonoco and truly value their ongoing efforts as one of our business partners,” said Angie Leonetti, marketing manager for Madico. “This sustainable, innovative solution, combined with a continuing commitment to service, responsiveness and quality, helped Sonoco win this recognition.”
