New Philadelphia, OH - Spurred by growing customer demand for plastics, Lauren Manufacturing has announced the dedication of additional operations to its production of thermoplastic and other flexible and rigid materials. This expansion complements the company's well-developed polymer offerings, including extruded rubber, silicone and molded products.

"Growth of our materials portfolio reflects our commitment to customers in becoming a single-source supplier of gaskets, seals and molded products," said Scott Peters, vice president, marketing and sales for Lauren Manufacturing. "Additionally, customers benefit from working with a trusted and dependable source, one who works proactively to bring innovative solutions to the table, from production to pricing."

"Lauren's presence in the marketplace allows for uninterrupted supply chain management," said Lisa Huntsman, vice president, operations for Lauren Manufacturing. "Despite the rising raw materials costs that have recently affected the polymer market, Lauren Manufacturing is committed to ensuring customers' continuity of service and reliability through proactive measures."

The implementation of thermoplastic operations was seamless at Lauren thanks to the Lean and continuous improvement programs the company has had in place for many years. Lauren's thermoplastics are already in use in a wide variety of markets, including automotive, window and door, recreational vehicle, electronic and appliance. The company currently produces many products including drip rails, furnace seals, smoke dampers, weather seals, clips and close-out seals for a variety of customers.

As with all Lauren products, Lauren plastic parts offer a full range of value-added operations including adhesive application, notching, drilling, splice welding and more. All of Lauren's value-added operations are set in place to assure Lauren customers the speed-to-market they demand to stay competitive in today's global market.

"Our investment in providing a wealth of value-added operations and services, including JIT logistical support, inventory management and private label packaging is for the benefit of our customers," said Peters. "Customers have invested a lot in developing us as a supplier, and we feel strongly that it is our responsibility to provide them with reliable service plus the features they want and need."

Implementation of Lean strategies and an ongoing dedication to continuous improvement has allowed Lauren Manufacturing to keep ahead of the curve and has resulted in more efficient operations.

"The addition of plastics benefits our customers and our customers' customers," said Peters. "We look forward to providing them with engineered products at a level of excellence they have come to expect from us."
