LANXESS Extends Its Low Viscosity Therban® AT HNBR Product Line

Leverkusen, Germany — LANXESS has added two new products to its low viscosity Therban® AT line (HNBR - Advanced Technology): Therban® AT C 3443 VP (34% ACN/3.5% RDB/Mooney 39) Theban® AT A 3904 VP (39% ACN/< 0.9% RDB/Mooney 39). The first product that was released is Therban® AT VP KA 8966 (34% ACN/< 0.9% RDB/Mooney 39) - anticipated commercial name is Therban® AT A 3404.

Compared against standard viscosity HNBR products, the unprecedented low viscosity levels coupled with a narrow molecular weight distribution provide substantial advantages such as easier mixing, faster throughput, better surface quality, lower plasticizer levels, reduced mold fouling and the option to apply higher filler loads. In addition to these benefits, the Therban® AT customers will still enjoy the well known and outstanding combination of physical properties. Typical applications would include large complex shapes such as stators or blowout preventors for the oil well industry, injection molded seals, extruded hoses, rubber rollers for paper processing, and wire & cable.
