Kynar Processing Aid For High Throughput Extrusion Of PVDF

Philadelphia, PA — Arkema Inc.'s Kynar® EX-AD 3000 processing aid is an additive used to improve the melt processing of Kynar® PVDF and Kynar Flex® PVDF resins. Kynar EX-AD additive increases line speeds, improves smoothness, reduces friction and lowers extruder output pressure in extrusion applications. Used in injection molding, this additive increases flow length through small cavities, improves surface smoothness, and reduces the cycle time for parts made of Kynar PVDF. Kynar EX-AD 3000 additive may also decrease the coefficient of friction of PVDF parts.

Typical extrusion applications for this processing aid are: primary insulation and jacketing for wire and cable, pipe and tube extrusions, flexible corrugated conduit raceways, monofilaments, films, sheets and rods. Injection-molded and blow-molded components can similarly benefit from small load levels of this additive.

Kynar® PVDF and Kynar Flex® PVDF are used in high performance applications requiring chemical and fuel resistance, flame retardancy, strength at elevated temperatures, resistance to sunlight, resistance to nuclear radiation and low leaching for high purity. Specific listings for Kynar® resin include UL plenum ratings, NSF 14, 51, and 61, and Factory Mutual 4910.
