Until now, incremental measurement systems have only been used for sensor arm extensometer. Because of the large size of the incremental scale and the optical reading head, it was not possible to produce and use this type of system with a small scale. The incremental clip-on extensometers from Zwick are unique in their construction and function. These clip-on extensometers were designed specifically for testing plastics and metals. All requirements for extension and reduction-in-width-measurement are fulfilled.

Analogue clip-on extensometers

Zwick also offers analogue clip-on extensometer with inductive or DMS (strain gauge) measurement systems. This extensometer is clamped directly onto the specimen and is designed for extension measurements on metal and plastics. The application areas includes the entire micro-extension and yield strength measurements, as well as E modulus determination. The clip-on extensometer are available in manual or automatic models.
