Horn Plastics Purchases A New Plastic Welder
Horn Plastics the manufacturer of Super-Slide truck bed liners announces the purchase of a 16 foot fusion welder for plastic truck liners.
Fargo, ND (PRWEB) - Horn Plastics, makers of the Super-Slide liners, are happy to announce the purchase of a new 16 foot butt fusion welder. This new welder makes Horn Plastics the only plastics company in the United States to have three butt fusion welders. These welders are used to create liners for dump boxes and trailers that are both super durable and non-stick. The Horn Plastics company was started in 1983 when founder Phil Horn noticed a need for non-stick liners in harvest trucks hauling sugar beats in the Red River Valley. The sugar beats would not easily roll out of the truck beds making unloading time much longer and harder than need be, so Horn founded a company offering a solution – engineered plastics, slippery enough for sugar beets and sticky soil to slide off of and sturdy enough to protect truck beds and trailers from abrasive materials. Soon this new plastic liner expanded too many more applications across the United States.
"Our biggest goal for the purchase of another welder of this size was to make our welding process and production more efficient," said a Horn Plastics representative. "We can make up one large 16 foot wide liner to cover the entire inside of a dump box or trailer, and also weld four narrow floor liners in one process."
This increase in production capability will allow the company to expand even farther than it already has in the last three decades. With three locations currently; Boise Idaho, Fargo North Dakota, and Wisconsin Dells Wisconsin, Horn Plastics is able to provide Super-Slide Liners to a wide range of clients across the United States. This new welder allows the team at Horn Plastics to get these clients the Super-Slide Liner they need fast, whether it's the heavy duty liner, with high abrasion resistance properties and excellent release known as Blue Iron. The economical, dependable, medium duty liner with great release properties dubbed the Blue Stripe. The aptly named Red Hot that is an extremely durable and heat resistant virgin UHMW liner able to handle hot temperatures, or the Yellow Quartz, the highest wearing virgin UHMW liner available.
According to a company representative, "Investing in this piece of equipment opened up more opportunities for the sales team to offer quicker lead times, that are unmatched in our industry, setting us apart from the rest."
Horn Plastics is not limited to just liners however, this incredible plastic technology can also be purchased in sheets to be used in whatever manner the client deems fit. The Super-Slide material has also been used to make Airboat Polymer liners which are available in any size to fit seamlessly on airboats. Super-Slide Airboat Polymer can be cut and molded to fit around the boat hull.
The new industrial 16 foot welder at Horn Plastics will be used in the mass production of liners and Super-slide sheets. The company also has many small welders for repair work on liners and even sells some models of these to their clients so they can do small repair jobs themselves.
