Two or more hoppers are mounted on each extruder which are supported by a load cell. With On-The-Throat Blending a steady stream of each material is supplied directly into the extruder at the proper ratio. The center hopper is free flowing which does not require an auger drive. By matching each Dosing auger rate to the extruder rpm and checking the loss-in-weight with the load cell the proper amount of each material is continuously supplied. There are six standard quick change auger screws available and two DC drive motors with different rates. The auger drives use Pulse Width Modulation technology with a 50:1 speed range for the widest speed range available on the market. Additional Dosing units are field upgradable by the customer as future needs demand more components.
