GLS Adds TPE Product Line With Heat Resistance, Low Compression Set For Gaskets And Seals

McHenry, IL - GLS Corp., global TPE supplier, has introduced the addition of thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) to the company's line of VERSAFLEX TPE alloys – a new series of VERSAFLEX CS 5000 TPE compounds formulated expressly for gaskets and seals.
What makes this new product series stand out is its excellent compression set (22 hrs @RT, 700C or 100oC) in a TPE alloy that is most typical of TPVs (thermoplastic vulcanizates) at the same temperatures. Inherent to the material is also excellent melt stability, strong tensile and tear strength, and high heat resistance.
The Versaflex CS 5000 series is available in Shore A hardness ranges of 40, 60 or 80, and, depending on the grade selected, they can be injection molded or extruded. An added benefit to the new product series is translucent pellets, allowing for easy colorability, if required. Also unique to the TPE alloys is that there is not a drying requirement which helps to improve processing times for molders.
