GE Plastics Makes Major Investment In Additional Production Capacity For 'xtreme' Lexan Resins
"GE's xtreme line of resins are a key component of our growth strategy, and we are making a significant investment in capacity so we can deliver these unique products worldwide," said Heiner Markhoff, president of GE Plastics Europe. "The xtreme Lexan grades provide exceptional performance under demanding conditions to help customers with their most challenging applications. In addition to addressing current and future customer needs, this significant expansion in Bergen op Zoom further underscores the company's commitment to this region and community."
Xtreme Lexan resins are the toughest in GE Plastic's portfolio, keeping their shape, colour and impact resistance in almost any condition you can dream up, for a broad range of applications such as mobile phones, personal safety equipment and outdoor vehicles to electrical enclosures, automotive components and electronic devices.
In addition to its commitment to produce innovative products, GE is also investing in a safe and healthy environment. Over the last five years, GE's Bergen op Zoom facility has invested 50 million Euro in environmental, health, and safety programs and exemplifies innovation and efficiency in safety management. The site has earned the Global Star Health & Safety certificate from GE Corporate and ISO 14001 certification. GE's Bergen Op Zoom facility first opened in 1971 and now spans 200 hectares and delivers a broad range of materials solutions and customers services.
