An alternative to CR, EPDM, CSPE and Cross-Linked Polyethylene in wire and cable and other electrical applications.
Dytron® thermoplastic rubber XL grades are halogen-free, flame-retardant (HFFR) TPEs. The products contain dynamically vulcanized rubber particles which are dispersed in a thermoplastic matrix; the flame retardant system is based on aluminum trihydrate. The TPE product results in an optimized balance between mechanical and electrical properties. Unique to this TPE is the rubber-like elasticity which distinguishes these HFFR-TPEs from others in the classification which are plastic-like and based on thermoplastic olefin (TPO) or ethylene/vinyl acetate (EVA) systems.
An added feature of XL 7300 grades is their ability to be crosslinked further by either electron beam irradiation or silane grafting/moisture curing, a process which enhances the performance of the final product.
