DuPont Focuses On Russia At Interplastica 2005

Moscow, Russia DuPont Engineering Polymers is addressing the rapidly-growing Russian market for high-performance polymers at Interplastica 2005. Amongst exhibit highlights is the company's portfolio of flexible thermoplastic materials, whilst applications displayed on the stand will include latest developments for the automotive, electrical and electronic and consumer industries. Beyond its offering in engineering plastics, DuPont will also be presenting recent innovations from its range of fluoropolymer-based solutions, as well as its offering of polymers for packaging and industrial applications. Interplastica is held in Moscow, Russia (13th – 16th December 2005). The DuPont booth can be found in the North Hall of the Forum Pavilion, stands SH28-30.
DuPont's ‘Flexible Solutions' is a portfolio of thermoplastic materials which are designed to meet stringent engineering requirements for high performance and flexibility. It includes a wide range of materials including DuPont™ Hytrel® thermoplastic elastomers, flexible Zytel® nylons and extrusion and blow moulding materials. These materials are often combined with harder materials to give aesthetic surfaces, controlled flex areas or differing degrees of flexibility – for example, in automotive air ducts with hard-soft-hard segments. DuPont™ ETPV is the most recent addition to the range, offering cost and performance-in-use benefits against rubber materials in a number of applications - specifically those involving oil and heat.
Further to its high-performance polymer business unit, DuPont will also have representatives from its fluoropolymer and packaging and industrial polymer businesses present. Products made with DuPont™ Teflon® fluoropolymer resins provide exceptional resistance to high temperatures, chemical reaction, corrosion, and stress-cracking. The mechanical toughness, electrical, and low-friction properties of Teflon® make it the preferred plastic for a host of applications and different processing techniques. Applications of Teflon® fluoropolymers, some of which will be exhibited at the stand, include those in the automotive, electronics, construction and chemical industries. Meanwhile, DuPont Packaging & Industrial Polymers has recently announced the introduction of tailor-made, low-gel coupling agents for production of improved halogen-free insulation and jacketing for wire and cable. Available in a very broad choice of base polymers, DuPont™ Fusabond® modifiers enable compounders to improve both mechanical properties and flame retardancy by allowing increased filler levels in halogen-free, flame retardant and low-smoke insulation and jacketing compounds used in wire and cable constructions.
With its second consecutive participation at the exhibition, DuPont is illustrating its commitment to the rapidly expanding Russian market. Indeed, the Russian plastics market grew on average by 15 percent per annum between 2003 and 2004. According to Eberhard Volk, Sales & Development Manager Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East & Africa at DuPont Engineering Polymers, the company's strategy for the region is to encourage this expansion. "The Russian market belongs to those areas of the world offering the greatest potential for growth – not just for our plastics business but for DuPont as a whole. And for that reason, we continue to invest in establishing our operations in the country. Our Engineering Polymers business has had its own team in Russia for over ten years, and has constantly achieved rising two-digit growth figures year on year."
