Cumberland Engineering Introduces Compact, Beside-the-Press Granulator Lines
The 1000 Series from the South Attleboro, Massachusetts-based manufacturer consists of 10" x 12" and 10" x 18" granulators with three-blade, open-scooped rotors that feed materials up to 450 pounds per hour or 550 pounds per hour, respectively. Motor capacities of the granulators range between 5 HP and 15 HP, and rotating end discs reduce chamber wear, dust and heat generated by the granulation process.
A newly soundproofed and pivoting infeed hopper allows for easy feeding of multiple applications with optimum control of flyback. This angled infeed results in smoother ingestion of bulky parts and shapes by the cutting area. The beside-the-press units utilize a cutting chamber design for enhanced processing capability. This design tilts the cutting chamber, resulting in increased application versatility and the ability to handle sprues, runners, and IMM reject parts.
The 1000 Series Granulators include features that reduce maintenance costs. Cleaning and maintenance are simplified with a reversible screen and drop-down removable cradle that allow for fast, convenient, and unobstructed screen removal. The knives are manufactured from specially heat-treated steel to ensure durability and long life. The cutting chamber is machined and bolted for easy servicing.
Cumberland Engineering is a leading industry supplier of high-performance, beside-the-press and large capacity granulating equipment. Cumberland also produces central reclaim, granulation systems and pelletizers, and post-consumer bottle and tire recycling systems.
