Berstorff's unique, patented extruder is specially designed for low-torque compounding applications, allowing the precise mixing technology required by the new generation of powder coating formulations. The machine is ideal for powder coatings, toners, and other heat-and shear-sensitive compounding applications. Available in screw diameters from 25 to 85mm, the COMPEX extruder features Berstorff's patented, non-intermeshing elements and special back-flow elements that work in combination to mix polymers thoroughly. This design also allows additives and temperature-sensitive materials to be incorporated gently and uniformly. The result is a smooth and continuous torque that minimizes shear force, thus producing a consistent and high-quality end product.
