Bonfiglioli Engineering has improved further their RLD rotary leak detector into a more economic and maintenance free machine. This new high tech design has maintained the renowned quality of Bonfiglioli and at the same time reduced the cost of the machine substantially making it the most competitive high speed leak tester on the market.

During operation a feeding screw spaces the container flow and positions them in phase into an entrance star, which positions each container under the sealing head. At this point the container will be lifted by a cam to the sealing pad on the container neck opening. The container is pressurized and monitored to determine if it leaks. If a leak is detected, the container is automatically rejected in a designated area on the exit of the tester. Otherwise it exits through the conveyor system. A sophisticated user friendly HMI is via a PC with SCADA software that includes various features. Such features are: storage of production data per shift or batch for 1 year operation; database of parameters for various containers to be tested; online user manual and troubleshooting assistance; Remote assistance modem package via internet to assist clients directly from Bonfiglioli for any anomalies during production and for any eventual software upgrades. This is a useful tool as any assistance from Bonfiglioli may take place immediately upon request. The outputs may be from 150 to 1000 cpm depending to customer request.

Bonfiglioli also manufacture linear leak testers for lower outputs. The HSL-200 is a medium output continuous motion in-line plastic bottle leak tester. The machine may have up to 2 to 4 testing heads and can reach outputs up to 180 cpm making it one of the fastest single station leak testing machines on the market already used worldwide. It can take various sizes with minimal tooling and fast change overs. It incorporates an Auto-Learn system which allows the parameters to be adjusted according to the container being tested. This machine is a very economical tester with a precise leak detection capability. The foot print space is only 1m x 0.7m making it very compact and easy to fit in existing lines either after blow molding or prior to the filling lines.
