Description
Owens Corning 152A-14C 8 mm CRATEC Chopped Strands are engineered to provide enhanced property performance in unsaturated polyester bulk molding compound (BMC). In addition, CRATEC Chopped Strands will provide good composite properties in epoxy or phenolic molding compounds and in dry-blended phenolic friction applications. The product offers maximum fiber wetting and 152A-14C is ideally suited for both injection-molded and compression-molded BMCs.
produced globally with the most advanced equipment, innovative sizing chemistry and a major commitment to statistical process control. The Quality Management Programs of all Owens Corning manufacturing plants are certified as meeting the requirements of ISO 9002. CRATEC Chopped Strands are appropriate for applications with global or regional specifications.
CRATEC Chopped Strands are manufactured from a collection of continuous glass filaments gathered into a single bundle. High performance chemistry is applied to optimize glass/polymer adhesion and provide excellent bundle integrity. The fiber bundles are then chopped into specific lengths, dried, screened, trace metals removed, and it is packaged in reusable bags to meet your end-use requirements. The product is optimized to meet your cost and performance needs.
The final selection of any reinforcement is dependent upon the techniques of the compounding and molding facilities and upon the performance requirements of the finished product. Each reinforcement product should be evaluated for its own specific characteristics, cost/performance benefits and applicability.
