Challenge: Replace an existing hose switching station. Heavy hoses were manually connected to a rail car, one at a time. Each hose conveyed material into a product silo. Errors were made in conveying material to the wrong silo. Employee safety issues, especially during winter months, were a continual concern. Labor costs to operate the station were excessive.
