Elyria, OH - The RIDGID line of plastic tubing cutters continues to expand with the RIDGID RC-1625 ratcheting plastic pipe and tubing cutter (Catalog No. 23498), from RIDGID. The new RC-1625 plastic cutter has a large capacity and has an advanced blade design that reduces the required cutting force.

With a 1/2" to 1-5/8" O.D. capacity, the RC-1625 ratchet cutter easily cuts plastic pipe and tubing such as PVC and CPVC, as well as PEX, polyethylene, polybutylene and rubber hose.

The cutter's advanced blade profile combined with the ratcheting mechanism work together to reduce the amount of hand force needed to cut through hard plastic material. A quick-change blade pin enables users to change blades by hand in a matter of seconds, saving valuable time. The quick-change pin also assures users that there will be no lost clips or screws during a blade change.

The RC-1625 cutter is constructed of lightweight, high-strength aluminum for professional durability. The RC-1625 cutter also has ergonomic handles specifically designed to provide a comfortable grip and to ensure that the user's hands are placed in the best position for cutting. An easy turn thumb latch holds the cutter closed, which protects the blade when the cutter is not in use.

"Now, professional plumbers have access to an expanding line of RIDGID cutters specifically designed to address the different types of plastic pipe and tubing that is entering the market today," said Renee Brown, product manager, RIDGID. "With the RIDGID RC-1625 cutter's quick-change pin, users can change blades in seconds without any tools, greatly increasing productivity."
