Eden Prairie, MI - RedEye RPM recently announced the general availability of its Ready Part premium service – a finishing process that produces smooth, mold-quality acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) parts.

"The rapid prototyping market is quickly moving toward manufacturing end-use parts," said Greg Ackerman, director of RedEye RPM. "Because of that, we need to constantly refine processes and identify new technologies that will provide our customers with real, functional parts they can use for retail or as components of manufactured applications. The smooth surface finish Ready Part offers will help our customers use fused deposition modeling as a competitive advantage."

Ready Part uses a patent-pending process to produce a smoother finish and water-tight seal on models and parts. The Ready Part technology also prepares models and parts for painting, plating and post finishing processes. In addition, Ready Part prepares parts for use as a master for room temperature vulcanization (RTV) molding.

RedEye RPM provides rapid prototypes and digitally manufactured parts on its more than 80 FDM and PolyJet systems. Ready Part is the second in a series of premium services from RedEye. The first, Overnight Build, ships production-grade ABS plastic parts and resin-based, VeroBlue models, the day after an order is received and approved.
