Dyneon PFA is a family off fully fluorinated, melt-processable fluorothermoplastics. The materials are a partially crystalline copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene (TFE) and perfluorinated comonomers. The following features characterize Dyneon PFA:
  • wide service temperature range from -200 to +2600C (-328"F to 5000F)
  • excellent universal resistance to solvents and chemicals
  • outstanding mechanical properties
  • extremely high weathering resistance and UV stability
  • very good dielectric values
  • high light transmission
  • non-flammable/no flash point under normal conditions
  • extremely smooth surfaces
  • good non-stick behavior
  • good low-friction properties
PFA applications include corrosion and heat resistant linings for fittings, pumps and process vessels. PFA can be used as a "hot melt adhesive" for joining parts made from PTFE and PTFE compounds, PTFE-coated glass fabrics and metals. Those in the electrical engineering, electronics, machine construction and automotive engineering fields utilize PFA in wire and cable coating as well as in injection molded parts.
