Over 30 years ago, HPM produced its first hydromechanical two platen clamping system to meet the plastic industry demands for reduced capital cost and floor space requirements. Today, HPM Next Wave two platen hydromechanical injection molding machines offer unparalleled features and performance. The new U.S. built 1100 Ton Next Wave Injection Molding Machine from HPM offers Command 4500C color controls, unique retractable tie-bars, compact clamp and injection unit design, as well as high performance features for both clamp and injection units. By utilizing independent clamp and injection hydraulic circuits with staged fixed volume main and booster pumps, the 1100 Ton Next Wave machine is capable of achieving a 5.5 second dry cycle time and a target molding time of 8.5 seconds for housewares products. This circuit design allows full overlapping cycle of the clamp and injection unit with no variation in speeds. The injection unit uses a compact dual parallel cylinder design, and is available in several sizes with A, B, and C screw size options, and can be configured with HPM's patented Double Wave Screws for greater plastication performance. This machine can be configured with the high performance option noted above, or without the booster pump for standard performance applications.
